Welcome to the wonderful world of knitting!

In Knitting 101 you'll learn the skills to make a scarf, as well as follow simple patterns for basic knitting projects. Learn to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. We'll be knitting the Wheat Scarf from TinCanKnits. You can download and print your free pattern here.

Finished scarf measures approximately 8 inches wide by 60 inches long.

No experience necessary. Class fee includes starter yarn and needles.

DATE & TIME: Wednesday, March 13, 10:30-noon


Yarn: 400 yards worsted*

Gauge: 18 sts and 22 rows / 4” in stockinette stitch

14 sts and 28 rows / 4” in garter stitch

Needles: US #8 / 5mm needles (or as req’d to meet gauge)

Notions: stitch markers, darning needle

*We'll be using Malabrigo Rios to knit this project. Please click through to view available colors, and leave the color name in notes at checkout. We'll have your yarn wound and ready to cast on when you get to class!
