Roots Fingering is a lofty yarn that may contain handknots in the skein (made during the milling process and reducing wood waste) as well as vegetable matter.

Roots Fingering is usually sourced from range wools like Rambouillet, Targhee, Cottswald, and Suffolk, procured from independent Canadian mills that get their material directly from Canadian farmers. The fiber is naturally dyed with minimal cleaning agents and usually spun on turn-of-the-century equipment that mimics handspinning.

Upon arriving at Tiny Coven Studios in Treaty One territory, the dyer scours and mordants every skein before dyeing them with natural dyes, including homegrown, foraged, and redirected food waste from local farms.

Roots Fingering is perfect for shawls, delicate accessories, and warm, drapey garments.
